Jennifer Hogan, MSW, LCSW
Hi there! I'm so glad you are prioritizing your mental health and looking into options for therapy. I understand that this can be a stressful experience, so let me tell you a little bit about myself so you can see if we would be a good fit.
My background:
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (C015450) and I obtained my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW). I received my bachelor's in Psychology and Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG).
My background experience includes working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults and families in the community-based and in home settings; working with adults in a Partial Hospitalized Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting; as well as doing residential work with human trafficking survivors. After doing several years of community-based therapy I transitioned to outpatient therapy until I was ready to open my own practice. I utilize my years in the mental health field along with continued educational hours to bring an evidence-based approach to therapy.
About Me
I empower women, men and teenagers by giving them tools to find their voice and advocate for what they need. This may look like healing unresolved trauma and attachment wounds so they are able to break unhelpful patterns that negatively impact their every day life. It may also look like learning how to assertively communicate to others and set boundaries so you no longer feel resentment towards others. Regardless of where you are on your journey, I am here to help you along the way. My goal is to work myself out of a job and give you the tools that you need to be successful. I bring a trauma and attachment focused lens into sessions to help you identify how past experiences are influencing your current mood, behaviors, and thoughts. I work with every client to identify what their personal goals are for therapy so we can stay on track with what is most important to you.
Do you feel guilty if you say no to someone or ask for help with something? Do you feel like you're too much or too emotional? Do you worry that you will be rejected if you express yourself? Do you want to stop dysfunctional family patterns and break generational trauma? If you answered yes to any of these, then you've come to the right spot. Together, we can discover the root causes behind your struggles with anger, anxiety, guilt, shame, depression, codependency, disorganized eating or low-self esteem. It only takes one person to break a cycle and together we can get you to where you want to be in your healing journey.
I believe everyone is capable of creating the life they want to live, regardless of where they are currently, where they come from, or what they've been through. The best part of my job is when I see someone reach their goals and make changes to help shape the rest of their lives. You've already gotten this far, why not take the next step and reach out?
